Hanoi - Ba Be - Cao Bang - Ta Lung - Dong Khe - Lang Son - Halong - Hanoi

Day 1: Hanoi- Ba Be

In the morning, departure from Hanoi to Ba Be national park (240km, 6 hour drive). Lunch en route. Arrival in mid-afternoon at Ba Be and exploration of a Tay people village. Dinner with the Tay people.

Day 2: Ba Be – Cao Bang

After a breakfast with the locals, cruise on a sampan to admire the sights of Ba Be lake. Lunch on a small island in the lake. In the afternoon, transfer to Cao Bang (180km, 4 hour drive). Late afternoon arrival with hotel check-in. After dinner, free time for sightseeing.

Day 3: Cao bang - Ta lung (a region densly populated by Tay minority)

After breakfast, transfer to Ta Lung (40 km, 1 hour drive). Arrival in Ta Lung, where the real trekk along the chinese border begins (15km in the jungle per day, with luggage porters). All meals are pic-nic style and nights are spent in local people’s houses.
*** In this area, the local custom is that couples sleep separatly, men on one side of the house and women on the other… Just so you know in advance!

Day 4: Trekk in the Ta Lung area

After breakfast, a 20km trekk awaits. Again pic-nic meals and night spent in local houses.

Day 5: Dong khe (45 km from Talung ) – Lang Son
|

After breakfast, continue the trekk. Today a 8km trekk in the mountains is planned!!! Arrival at Dong Khe around noon with a lunch in a restaurant. After the meal, transfer to Lang Son (100 km, 3 hour drive). Arrival in Lang Son and check-in to hotel. Rest of the afternoon is free. Before dinner, a 1 hour full body massage is included. After the trekk, it will feel so good! Specialty dinner in one of our favovite restaurants in Vietnam!

Day 6: Lang Son - Halong
|

After breakfast, transfer to Halong. Visit of Dzao minority villages on the way. At 1pm, boarding on to a traditional junk. Fresh seafood lunch served on board. Afternoon cruise. Amazing seafood dinner on board. And night spent on board next to remote islands in the Bay.

Day 8: Halong- Hanoi
|

Breakfast served on board and the morning is spent cruising the Bay, slowly returning to the pier. Around noon, just after a seafood lunch, arrival at the Halong pier. Transfer back to Hanoi with visit of handicraft prodcution sites en route.
