Ha Noi - Ha Long - Hai Hau - Phat Diem - Ninh Binh - Duyen Thai - Ha Noi

Day 1: Ha Noi - Ha Long

At 8am, you’ll drive to magnificent Ha Long Bay for a 24H cruise. Here, you’ll board a charming deluxe Junk where you’ll have a fresh seafood lunch as you head for Titop Island . Spend the afternoon sailing through the 3,000 limestone pinnacles piercing the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin . Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam ’s most incredible natural wonders and was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You’ll anchor next to a remote island this evening before an on-deck candlelight dinner featuring gourmet cuisine. (The guide isn’t allowed to go on the boat)

Day 02: Ha Long – Hai Hau

The cruise through Halong bay continues as you slowly head back to the Halong pier.  You will enjoy a buffet brunch just before disembarking the boat around noon.  Your guide and car will be waiting for you there.  You will then drive towards Nam Dinh province and the little Hai Hau village.  Hai Hau is really out of the beaten track.  You will have the chance to see the real authentic rural life of the Red River Delta.  You will reach a small “bed & breakfast” and you will spend the rest of the evening in the company of the family there.  You will have the chance to admire their spectacular garden with more than 600 finely trimmed bonsais. OVERNIGHT SPENT IN HAI HAU 

Day 03 : Hai Hau – Phat Diem – Ninh Binh

B/L/ D) 

After breakfast, you will take a bicycle and ride along small countryside roads between the rice fields.  You will see a surprising number of churches in every small village!  You will cycle 15km (on flat terrain) towards the beautiful Phat Diem Cathedral.  In order to reach Phat Diem, you will have to cross two rivers by small ferry!  After visiting the cathedral, the car will pick you up and drive you to Tam Coc.  You will have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Thung Nang.  There, you will do a short cruise aboard a small sampan to admire the natural beauty of the site.  You will see impressive limestone formations protruding out of the rice fields!  After the cruise, you will check-in to a lovely little resort in Tam Coc where all the buildings are real ancient houses dating from a long long time ago.  You will have the impression of spending the night in the past century.  In the evening, you will have dinner at the resort. Afterwards, the rest of the evening is free.

Day 04: Ninh Binh – Duyen Thai – Ha Noi

After breakfast at the hotel, you will once again take the bicycle and ride (10 km on flat terrain) along small roads to appreciate Ninh Binh’s magnificient scenery.  You will also cross a few small villages.  You will stop the ride once you arrive at the historic site of Hoa Lu.  There, you will visit the two temples dedicated to the past emperors Dinh and Le.  After visiting Hoa Lu, you will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.  Afterwards, you will take the road by car back to Hanoi .  En route, you will stop at Duyen Thai, a small village whose villagers specialize in the creation of beautiful lacquer.  You will then head back to Hanoi.  The car will drop you off at the address of your choice in the Old Quarter.
