Visit the centre of the country in depth. Between the historic sites of Hue and Hoi An, and the fascinating landscapes offered by the Central Highlands, you will be dazzled.

Hue - Hoi An - Kon Tum - Buon Ma Thuot - Ho Chi Minh City

Day 1:   Hue - Arrival

Pick-up at Hue airport and transfer to hotel. Visit the elaborate tombs of Emperors Khai Dinh and Tu Duc. Tu Duc’s tomb is located in an area of rolling hills and pine trees 7km outside Hue whilst Khai Dinh's is situated on a hill and was the last Mausoleum built during the Nguyen Dynasty. It is also arguably the most beautiful of all the royal tombs.

OVERNIGHT IN HUE

Day 2:  Hue - Danang - Hoi An

Morning boat cruise on the romantic Perfume River . Visit the Thien Mu Pagoda on the riverbank then drive to the Imperial Citadel. Proceed to Danang by road on a trip that is a highlight of central Vietnam . The four-hour journey hugs the coastline, climbing up and over the dramatic Hai Van Mountain pass. En route, visit the Cham Museum, housing the world’s finest collection of Cham artwork. Arrive at the ancient town of Hoi An and transfer to hotel.

The rest of the day is free for rest.

OVERNIGHT IN HOI AN

Day 3:  Hoi An - Sightseeing

Take a half-day walking tour of this quaint town, visiting ancient merchants’ houses, a Hokkien temple, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, and the colorful riverside market. Afternoon drive to visit a workshop where artisans make Hoi An’s famous lanterns. Learn how the lanterns are made and have the chance to create your own lanterns, from start to finish. Finish the day with a sunset boat trip on the Thu Bon River to Thanh Ha pottery village. 

OVERNIGHT IN HOI AN 

Day 4:  Hoi An – Kon Tum

After breakfast, drive through beautiful mountain passes to Kontum. During the drive, take stops to enjoy the scenery and panoramic views of the lowland country. Arrive at Kontum and check in to hotel. In the evening transfer to Konkotu village for a traditional music and dance performance around a bonfire while sampling local rice wine. Return to hotel for the night.

OVERNIGHT IN KON TUM 

Day 5:  Kon Tum

A short city tour: a local cathedral unique for its wooden architecture and the Orphanage centre. Travel to Kon Jri for a 10 km trek through local villages, forests, rivers and cassava plantations. Picnic lunch at the upper reaches of the Dakbla River . Relax and take a dip at a local swimming hole. Take a boat ride downstream to Konkotu hamlet to meet the Bahnar minority people.

OVERNIGHT IN KON TUM

Day 6:  Kon Tum – Buon Ma Thuot

Morning city tour visits a seminary and museum. Drive to Lak Lake in Ban Me Thuot through vast coffee plantations. The evening is free for relaxation as we stay on a stilt house.

OVERNIGHT ON HOUSE-ON-STILTS AT LAK LAKE

Day 7:  Buon Ma Thuot – Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast take a dugout canoe ride on pristine Lak Lake then take an elephant trek through H’mong hill tribe villages. Free time until transfer to Buon Ma Thuot for flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
