Danang - Hoi An - Hue

 

Day 1:  Danang - Arrival - Hoi An

Pick-up at Danang International Airport or at hotel in Danang. Visit the open-air Cham Museum housing the world’s finest collection of Cham art. Take a short drive to the riverside town of Hoi An. Upon arrival, embark on a walking tour of this ancient trading port. Visit a traditional Chinese Assembly House, a Hokkien Temple , ancient merchants’ houses, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colorful local market.

OVERNIGHT IN HOI AN

Day 2:  Hoi An – Kim Bong Cycling – Thanh Ha – Tra Que

Morning boat cruise to Kim Bong village where we visit a ship building yard and cycle through the village with stops at old colonial houses, temples and local cottage factories. Cruise to Thanh Ha pottery village and visit a traditional ceramic workshop. Visitors have a chance to “get their hands dirty” making their own creations. In the afternoon visit a lantern workshop. Learn how the lanterns are made then have a chance to create your own. Car drive to Tra Que village, renowned for the traditional gardening of herbs and vegetables. Join the farmers in their daily work and try some local dishes. Before leaving Tra Que, relax on a sampan while releasing floating lanterns on to the water for good luck.

Day 3: Hoi An - Hue

After breakfast, depart from Hoi An to the ancient capital of Hue. This four-hour drive hugs the ocean’s coastline, winding through emerald-green paddy fields and climbing up and over the dramatic Hai Van Mountain pass before arriving in Hue. In the afternoon visit the Imperial Citadel and the elaborate tomb of Emperor Tu Duc.

Day 4: Hue Cycling

The quiet country lanes and picturesque monuments make Hue an ideal place for cycling. Morning cycle through bamboo groves and villages to the Thanh Toan covered bridge. The route continues along local paths to Sam market and Thuong Lam Pagoda. (Total 23km cycling on flat roads and paths).  

In the afternoon visit Tha Om Garden House where you have the chance to discover the friendliness and hospitality of the owner’s family and taste traditional Hue confectionary. Proceed to the elegant Thien Mu Pagoda to witness a daily Buddhist prayer recital by the monks before enjoying a sunset cruise on the river.
